World leaders address global ocean pollution

The world's oceans face a number of serious threats, including pollution, overfishing and climate change. These threats have devastating effects on marine life and ecosystems.

In recent years, world leaders have increasingly recognized the need to address the problem of global ocean pollution. In 2015, the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals, which include the goal of "conserving and rationally using the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development."

In recent years, a number of initiatives have been launched to combat ocean pollution. In 2017, the World Economic Forum launched the Ocean Cleanup project aimed at removing plastic from the oceans. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has also launched a number of initiatives to reduce plastic pollution, including the New Plastic Economy initiative.

These initiatives are a positive step, but more needs to be done to address global ocean pollution. World leaders must work together to reduce pollution from land-based sources such as agriculture and sewage. They also need to take action to reduce plastic pollution and overfishing.
