Has the scientific establishment silenced the debate on the origin of COVID-19?

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed at least seven million people worldwide since 2020. Quarantines and other state restrictions have cost the world economy tens of trillions of dollars. The damage done to education, health and freedom is incalculable.

COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The virus can spread from person to person through droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, and diarrhea.

So you'd think that the world's leading scientific institutions and health authorities would want to understand the origin of the virus, as it might help us avoid a similar disaster in the future.

Instead, they tried desperately to suppress scientific debate.

The so-called lab leak theory of the origin of COVID is now supported by a number of US government agencies, but it is still a taboo subject in the scientific community and in the mainstream media.

Why?

There are a number of possible explanations. Some scientists may fear losing funding or damaging their reputation if they speak out in favor of the lab leak theory. Others may worry that such a theory could be used to incite anti-China sentiment or to support a political agenda.

However, suppressing scientific debate is a dangerous mistake. Science thrives on the free exchange of ideas and rigorous research. When we silence certain perspectives, we risk missing important clues that could help us prevent future crises.

In addition, the theory of a leak from the laboratory is not something marginal. It is supported by such respected scientists as Dr. Robert Furman, former chief virologist of the World Health Organization. And more and more evidence is growing to support this theory.

For example, a recent study published in Nature showed that the COVID-19 virus shows all the signs of having been created in a laboratory.

It is important to note that this study does not prove that COVID-19 was intentionally released from a laboratory. However, it does suggest that the lab leak theory deserves serious and unbiased investigation.

Have our scientific institutions lost their way?

If they are suppressing debate about the origins of COVID-19, then the answer is yes. Science should be based on evidence and open exchange of ideas. When we silence certain points of view or willfully ignore evidence, we betray the very essence of science.

We must demand that our scientific institutions conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the origins of COVID-19. No theory should be taboo, and all evidence should be carefully considered.

Only then can we learn the truth about how this pandemic started and do everything we can to prevent future ones.
