In a powerful address during a recent meeting of the foreign policy corps of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a sobering message: the war that is ongoing in Ukraine is not going on because of the power of Russia, but because of the fluctuations of Ukraine's international partners. Zelensky claimed that if the Western allies lifted the restrictions on the use of advanced weapons on the territory of Russia, the war could be finally stopped.
Zelensky emphasized that Russian military bases, airfields and logistics hubs are legitimate targets for the Ukrainian defense forces. He stated: "If we had sufficient long-range capability, we could deter Russian missile and air strikes, stop troop movements and ensure security on key front lines." The president's call for increased support underscores the dire situation on the ground, especially in regions like Donetsk, where Russian attacks remain unrelenting.
In addition to military support, Zelensky called for expanding sanctions against Russia - UNIAN. He highlighted the Kremlin's continued reliance on its shadow tanker fleet and alliances with countries such as Iran and North Korea as new challenges that require immediate action. "Russia's nuclear industry and banking sector still maintain global ties. These areas require further sanctions," Zelensky urged.
In addition, the Ukrainian leader criticized the slow pace of logistical support, noting that the delay in the provision of the promised aid hinders the formation of the necessary reserves for the Ukrainian military. "Unfortunately, logistics have stalled, and this concerns arrangements with our key partners, starting with the US," he noted.
The president's remarks came amid ongoing Ukrainian operations in Russia's Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces have reportedly gained control over 92 settlements. According to Zelenskyi, these operations would be unnecessary if Ukraine had long-range capabilities, which it desperately needs.
Zelensky's message is clear: the time for hesitation is over. Ukraine's allies must act decisively, providing long-range weapons and expanding sanctions to weaken Russia's military efforts. Without such measures, the war will drag on, cost even more lives, and continue the suffering of the Ukrainian people.

The time for half measures is over; the world must stand firmly on Ukraine's side, ensuring that it has the means to protect and restore peace.
